Where's your head at?
Sara Asnaghi has produced a series of sculptures of the human brain molded from various foodstuffs, called "What have you got in your head?" The series includes pieces made from barley, chilis, hemp seeds, candy balls, black rice, canary chow, bread crumbs, sugar, and hay. How weird is this? Ever gave a second thought about what's going on inside your head...? I think graphic designers brains definately looks like this....

This town is a bit cookie
Song Dong, one of China’s leading contemporary artist has almost completed a miniature replica of Shanghai City, made out of various sweets, mainly using different types off cookies. This is the seventh project in his “Eating the City” series, which includes sweet replicas of Barcelona or London. Working with a team of talented food artists, he uses wafers, biscuits, cookies and candy to create edible replicas of Shanghai’s major landmarks.

Foodtography
Carl Warner, an English photographer from London, thought of a new way of seeing food by actually creating his own landscapes made entirely out of food. The result is unbelievable! Next time you want to eat something, think of what the possibilities are. Here are some of his works:

Christel Assante
Christel Assante is a french artist who grew up without any artistic education and creates sculptures from eggs. What inspires her art out of eggs is the idea of symbols that are transformed into a 3D environment. Her art is made out of emu, ostrich, nandu, goose, pheasant, duck & quail eggs, although she prefers nandu eggs that are thicker than the rest. One egg sculpture can take up to 50 hours to make! Amazing when you think about how easily an egg can break...

Alternative Me
Three down, two to go... Did a photoshoot with Lanita for my "alternative me" poster campaign. Think the photos looks awesome. Amped to use this for an ambient. Tomorrow it's the men's turn to get weird and (half) naked ;) Will keep you posted!
Paper Art
If you think about it, paper is one of the most common & consumed media today to carry information. Yet we don't necessarily always realize the full potential paper has. This week I tweeted about paper art and I was absolutely stunned by the amazing talent of paper artists. Peter Callasen for one makes use of a simple A4 paper to create a 3D sculpture, but leaves the cut out forms on the paper to create a contrast between the flat surface & the 3D artwork. Visit http://bit.ly/b41Odl for a showcase on some amazing paper artworks. I'm sure you'll be just as amazed as I was!

Save the planet
Found out today that the average household throws away 13,000 separate pieces of paper each year. Most is packaging and junk mail. That means that you could actually have a closet full of upcycled newspaper dresses to last you almost the whole year. Further more if all our newspapers were recycled, or in this case upcycled, we could save about 250,000,000 trees each year! Conclusion - the solution to stop global warming is to wear what you read...
